Bristol’s Lido Spa and Restaurant was the venue for the recent South West finals of the Martin Miller’s Gin Love and Obsession Cocktail Comp. In the first round eight finalists showed their love for Martin Miller’s Gin by creating an original drink. All manner of concoctions were put together from the very simple sour style to vastly elaborate libations with foams, flames and even a sweet shop inspired cocktail using sherbert and Hubba-Bubba syrup! The next round was based on the theme Obsession and the bartenders were asked to come up with a drink to rival the Cosmopolitan using Martin Miller’s gin.

Carrie Bradshaw would have been proud to see how her favourite drink has evolved in the hands of Bristol’s finest! With Martin Miller’s & Fever Tree tonic going down a storm a great afternoon was had, and even the healthy swimmers seemed to join in the passion for gin! The overall winner , Justyn Bell of Hausbar (pictured above), lovingly prepared his original Par Avion cocktail which blew the judges away with its fantastic balance and wonderful flavours.
