The Adventurists and Hendrick’s Gin have joined forces again to host a day of curious antics for The Adventurists Film Festival, dedicated to celebrating the wittiest, quirkiest and most gripping adventure films out there. As well as screenings of self-filmed tales of glorious adventuresome mayhem, there will be a selection of impressive adventurer speakers. These include 34-year-old Ed Stafford, National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year and the first man to walk the length of the mighty Amazon River, Tarka and Katie-Jane L’Herpiniere and Andrew Miles from the Explorers Film School. The Film Festival will take place on Saturday 9th April from midday until 8pm and will be held at the home of exploration and geography – the splendid and most appropriate, Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in Kensington. With their mutual appreciation of the unusual, the super premium gin and fellow intrepid explorers will be also be raising a toast to Atlas Obscura, and their Obscura Day celebrations. Hendrick’s Gin will be holding a delightfully different Siamese Croquet competition through the halls of the RGS and will be unveiling the amazing Hendrick’s Levitating Cake. After the screening of the winning adventure film at 6.30pm, activities will move to the Map Room, where discussions of adventure will take place over maps of the world with a Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic in hand.
If you consider yourself an audacious adventurer and a lover of all things eccentric then you won’t want to miss out on The Adventurists Film Festival on the 9th April and the chance to be part of the UK’s Obscura Day activities, over a Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic.
