2016 has been full of surprises so far but as we gear up for Christmas, what is the illusive Next Big Thing?
Now’s your chance to find out. The second instalment of the Beefeater ‘London Tonic Series’ will see global bartending legend, Ryan Chetiyawardana – aka Mr Lyan – put the gin into GINgle Bells combining his unique cocktail creativity with trend forecasting at the Beefeater gin distillery in Kennington, South London. For free!
Taking place on Saturday 3rd December, the event will see Mr Lyan share his inside knowledge on drinks and cocktail trends for Christmas 2016 and beyond. The man responsible for bringing pre-batched cocktails to the fore through his renowned east-end bar White Lyan, Ryan will also teach guests how to make three bespoke, specially created Beefeater drinks.
As with all of London’s trendiest December gatherings, Christmas attire is strictly compulsory for all attendees (festive jumpers accepted, elf onesies encouraged), with Mr Lyan giving a signed copy of his best-selling cocktail book, Good Things to Drink, to the best dressed guest.
Beefeater’s GINgle Bells is free of charge and will take place over two sessions on Saturday 3rd December. The two hour sessions are from 2.00pm and 4.00pm sharp, with arrival from 1.30 pm and 3.30pm respectively. Booking is also essential: to secure a place at this exclusive event, visit: Event Brite (tinyurl.com/mrlyanbeefeater).
Interested event goers can also add a tour of the iconic Beefeater South London distillery to their afternoon for £12 (£10.80 for concessions), by visiting beefeaterdistillery.com and booking onto the 1.30pm or 3.30pm slot.
Kasia Karpieszuk, Manager at Beefeater London, The Home of Gin, said: “Despite making our iconic London Dry Gin since the early 1800s, our Beefeater distillery is one of London’s best-kept secrets.
“Now, Mr Lyan will be sharing the hottest trends in the drinks world for this Christmas as part of our London Tonic Series, making our historic home – The Home of Gin – a destination for curious Londoners and gin lovers alike.”
The London Tonic Series features one event per month at the Beefeater Gin Distillery from November 2016 to June 2017, showcasing the best of London’s arts and culture scene, from stand-up comedians to leading spoken word artists.
Guests will also be invited to make a charitable contribution to the London Tonic Series’ charity arts partner, the City & Guilds of London Art School; a not-for-profit, specialist higher education institution also based in Kennington, which trains the next generation of Fine Artists, Conservators and Historic Carvers.
Guests will not be admitted without government-issued identification proving they are at least 18 years old.
