The global challenge has been set: with 26 countries competing to win, the cocktail shakers have now been rinsed and glasses left out to dry, as the finalists await the grand final of this year’s Beefeater 24 Global Bartender Competition. First launched in 2010 with four participating markets, the competition is fast becoming known as one of the most respected competitions in the bartender world. With 26 bartenders set to take part this year, Beefeater has added a new twist to the competition. Set to showcase some of the world’s most imaginative Beefeater 24 cocktails to date, this year – for the first time in the competition’s history – bartenders have been tasked to create two cocktails rather than one; using Beefeater Dry and Beefeater 24 respectively. The final takes place on 7th November 2013 at 9 Grosvenor Place, London and the overall winner will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Japan in 2014, where they will learn about the teas which are intrinsic to Beefeater 24’s taste profile and the local bartending culture. The winner’s name will also be inscribed on the Beefeater distiller’s Hall of Fame plaque.
